RGB-D-based Human Motion Recognition with Deep Learning: A Survey
نویسندگان
چکیده
Human motion recognition is one of the most important branches of human-centered research activities. In recent years, motion recognition based on RGB-D data has attracted much attention. Along with the development in artificial intelligence, deep learning techniques have gained remarkable success in computer vision. In particular, convolutional neural networks (CNN) have achieved great success for image-based tasks, and recurrent neural networks (RNN) are renowned for sequence-based problems. Specifically, deep learning methods based on the CNN and RNN architectures have been adopted for motion recognition using RGB-D data. In this paper, a detailed overview of recent advances in RGB-D-based motion recognition is presented. The reviewed methods are broadly categorized into four groups, depending on the modality adopted for recognition: RGB-based, depth-based, skeleton-based and multi-modal-based. As a survey focused on the application of deep learning to RGB-D-based motion recognition, we explicitly discuss the advantages and limitations of existing techniques. Particularly, we highlighted the methods of encoding spatialtemporal-structural information inherent in video sequence, and discuss potential directions for future research.

متن کاملAccurate and robust face recognition from RGB-D images with a deep learning approach
Face recognition from RGB-D images utilizes 2 complementary types of image data, i.e. colour and depth images, to achieve more accurate recognition. In this paper, we propose a face recognition system based on deep learning, which can be used to verify and identify a subject from the colour and depth face images captured with a consumer-level RGB-D camera. To recognize faces with colour and dep...

This paper studies the problem of RGB-D object recognition. Inspired by the great success of deep convolutional neural networks (DCNN) in AI, researchers have tried to apply it to improve the performance of RGB-D object recognition. However, DCNN always requires a large-scale annotated dataset to supervise its training. Manually labeling such a large RGB-D dataset is expensive and time consumin...

In this paper, we propose a correlated and individual multi-modal deep learning (CIMDL) method for RGB-D object recognition. Unlike most conventional RGB-D object recognition methods which extract features from the RGB and depth channels individually, our CIMDL jointly learns feature representations from raw RGB-D data with a pair of deep neural networks, so that the sharable and modalspecific ...
